Description

Turn your substandard windows into safety glass

Safety glass film provides invisible protection by preventing your glass from shattering. When it comes to safety, we all have different levels that we want. Some would like to protect their glass, whether it be a table or a window from breaking and hurting someone. This can be really helpful for those that have commercial buildings as well. Glass dividers between rooms or glass shelves typically come as tempered or safety glass but not always. Our safety window film is applied directly to the glass itself. There is no need to remove the window. It’s very simple. This protective safety glass film helps with:

    • Protects furniture and other things on the inside from fading by the sun’s UV rays.
    • Makes the glass shatterproof.
    • Adds a layer of protection for break-ins (although our security window film will be the best option for that).
    • Makes the glass safer.

Safety glass film offers tested & proven glazing protection

Our safety glass film has been tested and meets the standards for Britain and Europe. This safety film meets regulation 14 of The Workplace (Health, Safety, Welfare) Regulations 1992 (BS EN12600 Class 2B2 formerly BS6206 Class B). Brief details of this regulation can be found on the government website here. Alternatively, the HSE has a full 60-page publication here. This is important for those that are interested in using this for health ad safety purposes..

This sort of glass safety film is perfect for those that are running childcares at home or schools. It adds another layer of protection to ensure there aren’t shards of glass going everywhere should a child break a piece of glass. This ensures the safety of everyone around as well. It is great for playrooms.

Safety window film can be installed at home with a few tools. We provide full fitting instructions here. If you don’t fancy installing the film yourself, we offer safety window film installation service.

  2. I Harber

great product. Installation wasnt too difficult. the hardest part was removing the backing liner but once Id started it off it was a breeze. Fast delivery aswell.

  3. Ann M. (verified owner)

An excellent product with amazing video of how to install.

  4. Olga

Is it possible to install the film on the outer side of the window?

    • Paul Foster

There’s nothing stopping you installing it outside but it isn’t warranted for external use. I would recommend siliconing the edges of the film to offer some protection. It would be better to install internally if possible.

  5. Sara

Can this be used on stained glass?

    • Paul Foster

It can as long as it’s flat and not textured. It can go over very slightly textured glass but it would be worth testing first with a piece of the film.

  6. Liz

How easy is this to remove and does it leave any marks behind?

    • Paul Foster

If it’s toughened glass then it’s pretty eay. Just use a steamer which will soften the adhesive and you can then just pull it off – use a glass scraper with a spray of soapy water if any of the adhesives is left behind. If the glass is not toughened then you can’t use a steamer. In this case, you can pick a corner away and then pull the film off. Then use a glass scraper to remove the adhesive. Just make sure the blades are sharp.

  7. Andy

Can this be used on a glass shower screen?

    • Paul Foster

Yes it can. It will need some time to dry before getting it wet which is difficult in a shower room. Ideally, it will need 24-48 hours. Any less and I would recommend checking it afterwards to make sure no water has got behind it. Once it started to dry then there will be no issues.

I’ve not used it yet but looks good ?

  9. Dee

Can I use this product on an internal door with embossed glass. The inside of the glass is smooth but I can feel slight bumps from the embossing on the other side of the panes.

    • Paul Foster

You can install the safety film to the smooth side without any problems. If the glass is single-glazed, which it probably is if it’s an internal door, then that will be sufficient to just cover the one side for safety standards. If you did want to install safety window film to the embossed side you would need to test it first. As long as the glass is not too embossed and the film follows the flow of the glass then it’s ok to cover.

  10. Peter Lawrenson

Can it be used on old mirror glass

    • Paul Foster

As long as the glass is flat and not weak and so likely to break if you but pressure on it squeegeeing the film on then there’s no reason why safety window film can’t be installed to old mirror glass

  11. Arthur

How transparent is this? Not sure what 4Mil crystal clear 100 micron means in laymen’s terms, would it still look like glass or plastic? Would it look frosted? Thanks in advance. 🙂

    • Paul Foster

The safety film is invisible when installed. You won’t be able to tell that it’s on the window.

  12. David Nellist

I’ve just tried to view fitting instructions but it wouldn’t allow me to open the webpage. Can you send me a copy please

  13. Sammi

Can you trip the width of the film, maybe once its in place? Our window is 109cm x 220cm.

    • Paul Foster

Yes, this should be cut slightly oversized and then trimmed to the frame when it’s on the glass

  14. Stephen Wright

What width should I buy for internal windows measuring 50.5cm? I suspect that fitting 76cm then cutting to the exact width would be messier and more difficult than using the 50cm and accepting a slight gap on one side.

    • Paul Foster

We always cut the film slightly oversize and then trim out on the glass so its a nice fit to the frame.

  15. Rachel Smith

If installing this on an internal glass door, should you cover both sides of the glass?

    • Paul Foster

If the glass is single glazed then you are ok to just install to one side.

  16. Ashley

Would the installation of this film to normal glass, satisfy the regulations and standards that landlords must adhere to?

    • Paul Foster

Yes it will bring the glass in line with the current health and safety regulations

  17. Jimmy Hogg

Would this product bring a double glazed window with toughened glass up to building regulation BS6180?

    • Paul Foster

Our safety glass film enhances glass safety by preventing breakage and maintaining its integrity in case of impact, in-line with the European standard EN 12600. However, the UK regulation BS6180 specifically concerns the structural performance of glass used in guardrails and balustrades, including resistance to load and impact.

While the safety film improves safety by reducing the risk of glass breakage, it is not specifically certified to ensure that the glass treated with this film meets the requirements of BS6180, which covers resistance to both static and dynamic loads. If you’re using toughened glass in a balustrade or guardrail, we recommend consulting a building professional specialising in this certification to ensure full compliance with BS6180.
